As therapists, you may recommend a variety of treatments for a patient, such as Functional Mobility, Intensive Upper Limb Training, and more. There may be a set of exercises for every therapy. Using the "Therapy Type" DocType, ERPNext assists you in templating the treatments. In addition to adding exercises based on body parts and adding standard rates and item details for billing, this allows you to develop therapies and attach them to healthcare service units.

1. How to Create a Therapy Type

1. Click New in the Treatment Type list.
2. Click on New under Treatment Type list.
3. Input the item's information, including its code, name, group, and optional description.
4. If this Treatment Type will be billed, select "Is Billable" and enter the cost per session.
5. The default length of a therapy session, which will be utilized when scheduling an appointment, is an optional addition.
6. For the Treatment Type, you can also add the Medical Department and the Healthcare Service Unit.
7. Save.

2. Features

2.1 Add Exercises According to Body Parts

You may frequently need to recommend workouts to Patients that are particular to the damaged body parts. These Body Components can be readily added to the Treatment For area. Then, simply click on Add Exercises to add the appropriate Workout Types. You must do this by establishing a link in the Activity Type document between Exercise Type and Body Components.

For example:

• Exercise "Wall Pushups" is for Hand, Muscles and Joints.
• Exercise "Sit to Stand" is for Legs and Core.
• Exercise "Thera-band Upper Body" is for Muscles, Joints, Back, Legs.

The exercises for the body parts you choose in the "Therapy For" field while generating the Treatment Type template will then be added to the Workout table.

2.2 Disable Therapy Types

Certain Treatment Types can also be disabled if no sessions are being held for them. When scheduling appointments or prescribing treatments in Patient Encounter, for instance, if your physiotherapy unit is undergoing renovations and some Healthcare Service Units, such as the aquatic therapy pool, are unavailable, you can set the document as disabled and it will be filtered out.

2.3 Change Item Code

From the Treatment Type screen, you can also alter the Item Code that will be used for billing. To change an item code, click the Change Item Code button, type in the new code, and then click the "Change Item Code" button. The item's name will change.

2.4 Prescribe Therapies in Patient Encounter

In the Patient Encounter, you can recommend therapies, and when you submit it, a Therapy Plan is generated automatically.

2.5 Book Appointment for Therapy Type

Choose the therapy in the Therapy area to schedule a patient appointment for any therapy type. The Obtain Prescribed Treatments option also allows you to retrieve any treatments recommended for that patient during the prior patient encounter.
