Employee Checkin
Employee Checkin
A record of each employee's check-ins and check-outs at the company is kept using Employee Checkin. For attendance, shift management, and calculating working hours, the majority of firms employ this.
1. Prerequisites
Before you can create an Employee Checkin, you must first:
- Employee
The following documents must also be made if you want shifts to be established in employee check-ins and you want to process auto-attendance:
Shift Type
Shift Assignment or set a default shift in Employee master.
2. How to create an Employee Checkin
2.1 Creating logs manually
Go to: to create a new employee check-in.
Human Resources > Attendance > Employee Checkin
Choose New.
Decide on the Employee.
Set the log's date and time.
Log Type should be IN/OUT.
Save.
If you have established shifts and shift assignments, the Employee Checkin will, after saving, determine which shift the timestamp belongs to.
To bypass that record while indicating attendance, enable Skip Auto Attendance.
Moreover, you can record the employee's check-in location or the Biometric Device ID.

The attendance record that was noted for a particular set of check-ins will later be connected to the document if auto attendance is enabled.
2.2 Integrating ERPNext with Biometric devices
You can utilize a biometric device to create records in ERPNext if you use it to track employee check-ins and check-outs. This topic is covered in more detail here.
