Product Bundle

Product Bundle

You can list existing items that are grouped together and sold as a set in a master called a "Product Bundle" (or bundle).

For instance, you must make sure that the charger, cable, and sim ejector pin are sent with the smartphone you sell and that stock levels of these things are affected. You can construct a Product Bundle for the primary item, a smartphone, to meet this problem. Next, add the delivered things as so-called "Child Items," such as the smartphone, charger, cable, and sim ejector pin.

On the sales side, a product bundle can be thought of as a "Bill-of-Materials."

The procedures for creating a Product Bundle and utilizing it in sales transactions are listed below.

2.1 Selecting Parent Item

There are two sections in Product Bundle Master. The "Parent Item" and the List of Shippable Items (Child Items).

The "Parent Item" should not be thought of as a tangible object, but rather as a vessel or virtual item. A non-stock item must be the "Parent Item." You must uncheck the "Keep Stock" box on the item form in order to create a non-stock item. This item is not kept in stock since only "Child Items" are kept in stock for it. Create a standard Bill of Material (BOM) and bundle them using Stock Entry Transactions if you want to keep stock of the Parent Item.

2.2 Selecting Child Items

All of the child things for which we keep stock and provide to customers are included in the Items table. Keep in mind that the "Parent Item" is only conceptual, thus your primary product (in this case, a smartphone) must also be included on the List of Child (or Package) Items.

3. Features

3.1 Product Bundle in the Sales Transactions

The Parent Item will be chosen in the main item table for creating sales transactions (sales invoice, sales order, and delivery note).

When a parent item is selected in the main item table, the transaction's packing list table will acquire all of the child items for that parent item. You can specify the serial number of the child item in the packing list table itself if the child item is a serialized item. The system will decrease the stock level of child products from the warehouse provided in the Packing List table upon submission of the transaction.

To Handle Offers/Schemes, Use Product Bundles:

When a customer that deals in nutritional supplements asked for a capability to manage deals like "Buy One Get One Free," this was found. He built a non-stock item that was used as the Parent Item to manage the situation. He placed offer information in the item description, and the offer was displayed on the item's image. When the quantity was two, the sellable item was chosen in the package item. As a result, the system took two quantities of product out of the warehouse every time they sold one quantity of the Parent item through this offer.
