Clinical Procedure

Clinical Procedure

ERPNext enables you to design and plan clinical procedures for patients, such as cataract surgery or wound cleaning. You can preconfigure Clinical Process Templates in the system so that you won't have to manually establish default values for things like consumables, rates, and items each time you do a Clinical Operation.

1. How to Create a Clinical Procedure

Go to: to build a clinical procedure.

Home > Healthcare > Consultation > Clinical Procedure

1.1 Create a Clinical Procedure Manually

  1. For the procedure, choose a naming series.
  2. Choose a template for a procedure. The warehouse, the medical department, and the consumables will immediately be retrieved.
  3. You can choose the Appointment if you've made one for the Clinical Process. It will automatically retrieve the Procedure Template, the Patient, the Start Date and Time, etc.
  4. If it is not already specified, choose a service unit, and the procedure will be carried out there.
  5. Under the Consumables section, enter or modify consumables' details.
  6. Create a Sample Collection document and link it if any samples will be taken during or after the clinical procedure.
  7. Save.
  8. Submit.

1.2 Create a Clinical Procedure from an Appointment

Using the Obtain Prescribed Procedures button in Patient Appointment, you can search for and schedule a patient appointment based on the procedures that were prescribed for the patient in the prior patient encounter.

The performing practitioner can quickly construct a new procedure from a scheduled appointment by selecting Create > Clinical Procedure after the appointment has been made.

2. Features

2.1 Procedure Actions

2.1.1 Start Procedure

By selecting the Start button, the Practitioner can change the procedure's state to In Progress.

If the process requires consumables, the Healthcare Service Unit's Warehouse must have an adequate stock of each consumable before the procedure may begin. If this doesn't work, the system will request your approval for a Stock Transfer. A stock entry with the entry type "Material Transfer" will be created and shown when you confirm. Verify the automatically generated Stock Entry document, then save and submit. The Process can then be started.

2.1.2 Complete Procedure

The practitioner can update the Consumables table with the actual stock quantity used when the process is finished. By booking a stock entry, the Complete and Consume button will record consumption and change the clinical procedure's status to Finished. The Complete button will appear if there are no stock items in the Consumables table for the procedure.

2.2 Billing

By visiting the page, you can create invoices for treatments given to a patient.

Home > Selling > Sales > Sales Invoice > Get Items From > Healthcare Services.

The unbilled services for a Patient will be shown in this manner, allowing the billing user to select one without having to access the Healthcare module documentation.

Charges for consumable items will be added individually to the sales invoice if the option to invoice them separately is selected.
