Inpatient ADT

Inpatient ADT

ADT (Admission, Discharge, Transfer) management at a busy hospital is a challenging task that is greatly facilitated by ERPNext Healthcare. Every patient admission in ERPNext Healthcare is maintained with the Inpatient Record document.

Admission

Using the Order Admission button, a Practitioner can request the admission of a patient from the Patient Encounter screen.

The practitioner might specify the sort of ward bed the patient should be placed in as well as any additional admission instructions for the staff as part of the Admission Order.

ERPNext Healthcare prepares an Inpatient Record for the Patient with all instructions provided by the Practitioner when a patient is ordered for admission. As part of the ordered Encounter, any prescription medications and orders for investigations or procedures will be added to the IP record.

Note: By default, field level permissions are set up such that only users with the enabled roles of Physician and Nursing User can see diagnosis information, admission instructions, and other details.

If a ward is available, the inpatient admission officer will assign the patient to it after reviewing the inpatient record with the status Admission Scheduled. The admissions officer can choose a ward bed for the patient and complete the admission procedure by clicking the Admit button in the inpatient record.

The status of the patient's inpatient record will be changed to Admitted after a service unit has been designated for them.

Discharge Similar to Schedule Admission, Admitted Patients will have the ability to Order Discharge during Patient Encounters, which will change the impatient record's status to Discharge Scheduled.

Using a patient encounter or the inpatient record, the practitioner might direct the discharge of an inpatient. The Discharge Order gives the Practitioner the ability to choose the information that will be updated in the patient's Inpatient Record document, the Discharge Notes (or the Discharge Summary). The doctor can choose which tests, drugs, and treatments the patient had at the facility should be listed in the discharge notes. He can also choose whether or not to include his comments in print.

The admissions officer can print the discharge notes from the inpatient record and mark the patient's discharge by using the discharge button to record their exit.

To successfully complete the Discharge option, ERPNext Healthcare confirms that all services used during the patient's stay at the institution are invoiced. Please take note that the Invoice status is not taken into account by this validation.

Transfer

All information pertaining to the patient's stay at the facility, including all the ward beds (Service Unit) used, is contained in the inpatient record.

The Transfer button can always be used to move a patient across Service Units. You can choose the Service Unit to which the Patient is being transported thanks to this.
