Lab Test Template
Lab Test Template
You can quickly design all different types of lab tests using the Lab Test Template in ERPNext.
To avoid having to repeatedly enter the same information, you can pre-configure the events and result components for Single, Compound, Descriptive, or Grouped tests.
1. How to create a Lab Test Template
To create a Lab Test Template, go to:
Home > Healthcare > Laboratory > Lab Test Template > New Lab Test Template
The following fields are found in every result format's template.
- Name of Test: Provide the name of the lab test.
- Item Code: Items are automatically created upon template creation to manage the invoicing procedure for lab tests. In this area, enter the test's item code.
- Item Group: With this field, you can categorize the laboratory tests according to several criteria. Establish a new item group or pick from the ones already created
- Department: The medical facility where this lab test is performed.
- Result Format: Describe the lab test's outcome format.:
Single: Only one result value is interpreted for this kind of lab test.
Compound: The material is examined in a variety of ways during compound lab testing.
- Descriptive: These tests are employed for evaluating a number of outcome variables, and you can configure them to examine the sample's susceptibility to various antibiotics.
- Grouped: This is a collection of additional test templates.
- No Result: These tests yield no results at all.
Description: Here, you can give a thorough explanation of the test.
Is Billable: If the test is chargeable, check this.
- Rate: If the box labeled "Is Billable" is ticked, you must enter the cost of the lab test in this area. After the template is saved in this scenario, Item Price will be set up automatically.
1.1 Single Result Format
Only one result value is evaluated in this result format. After entering the information requested in step one, the UOM, Secondary UOM, and Normal Range must be configured. To check for anemia, for instance, the haemoglobin test is frequently used, typically in conjunction with a hematocrit or as part of a complete blood count (CBC).
1.2 Compound Result Format
The sample is put through a number of events testing in this outcome format. The "Compound" table must be configured to handle these events. For each event, you can set the Events as well as the UOM, Secondary UOM, Conversion Factor, and Normal Range. If the outcome of any event in the lab test may be left unspecified, you can select "Allow Blank" next to it. The system won't allow you to submit the lab test until all the result values are set if this is not checked.
1.3 Descriptive Result Format
Several result components are tested using these tests. By turning on the "Sensitivity" option in the template, you may optionally configure testing the sample's sensitivity for various antibiotics. The "Allow Blank" option enables leaving certain components' result entries blank.
1.4 Grouped Result Format
A lab test result is created using a grouped result format as a collection of additional tests or events, such as a complete hemogram. A series of procedures known as the Whole haemogram test are carried out on a blood sample. A hemogram is used as a thorough screening tool to look for any illnesses or infections in the body. Specifically, a hemogram examines these three elements of blood:
- The hematocrit test and the hemoglobin test are frequently used to determine whether a patient has anemia (CBC).
- The percentage of each type of WBC in the body is determined by a DLC blood test.
- The TLC test measures the quantity of WBCs in our bodies.
- Neutrophils (Event) (Event)
In case of occurrences, you can set the UOM, Secondary UOM, and Normal Range. The system automatically retrieves the description and rating of any additional tests you select from the database.
2. Features
