You might want to link a specific field to another DocType while constructing any DocType. For instance, you can choose an existing customer in the "Customer" field of the Sales Order DocType. Link Fields are the name for these fields.

Let's say you wish to see that item and its item group in a sales order. The following are the steps to do this:

Step 1: Go to Customize Form

Home > Customization > Form Customization > Customize Form

Step 2: Select the Document for which you want multiple fields to be visible in the Search Field

We shall choose the Document Item in this case.

Step 3: Search Field

The Search By field's Warehouse field name needs to be updated.

When you choose the Item when making a sales order once these settings have been modified, you will also be able to access the warehouse.
