A Loan Security Shortfall is automatically formed for that particular loan if the loan to security value ratio falls below a particular threshold.

A Loan Security Shortfall includes information on:

  • Loan: the Loan for which there is a gap between the Loan and the Security Value.

  • Shortfall Time: the moment the record for the gap was made.

  • Status: the state of the deficit. The default status is Pending; after a payment is made or extra security is offered as collateral for the loan to cover the gap, the status switches to Complete.

  • Loan Amount: Loan amount is the outstanding loan amount that is used to calculate the shortfall.

  • Security Value: Security Value is the value of the pledged security at the time.

  • Shortfall Amount: The shortfall amount is the sum that must be repaid to cover the gap between the loan amount and the security value.

With the Add Loan Security button in the top right, more loan security can be pledged against a loan directly from the Loan Security Shortfall.
