Additional Salary

**An employee who works for a corporation may additionally receive salary in addition to their regular wage.

When processing the payroll, ERPNext gives you the option to add or subtract ad hoc salary for a specific Employee using a function called Extra Salary. Performance bonuses, deputation allowances, arrears, incentives, and other modifications are a few instances of additional salary.**

1. Prerequisites

Creating the following is advised before generating an Extra Salary:

  • Employee
  • Salary Component

2. How to create an Additional Salary

  1. Click New from the Extra Salary list.

  2. Choose an employee.

  3. Decide on the Salary Component.

  4. Fill in the Amount.

  5. Date of Payroll: Insert this. The additional salary will be added to the earnings or deducted if the Payroll Date for Extra Salary falls within the processing window for the salary.

  6. Publish and save.

To replace the Extra Salary component on the Salary Structure amount, tick the "Overwrite Salary Structure Amount" item. Also, if entire tax needs to be subtracted from the Extra Salary component for that specific payroll period, the "Deduct Full Tax on Specified Payroll Date" checkbox can be chosen.

3.Features

3.1 Recurring Additional Salary

Users can generate an Extra Salary for a set period of time using this functionality. The "To Date" and "From Date" fields must be filled in when "Is Recurring" is selected. The additional compensation amount for this employee during the given date range will be added or subtracted, and it will be shown in the employee's wage slip. Every month in the interval between the "From Date" and the "To Date," the Extra Salary will be repeated.
