Setting Up Inpatient Facility

You can quickly set up your inpatient facility, admit, discharge, and transfer (ADT) patients, and invoice the patient for the care services provided with ERPNext Healthcare. Here is how to put things up.

With the Healthcare Service Unit document, you may use ERPNext to map the infrastructure of your facility (wards, beds, etc.).

Healthcare Service Unit Type

With the Healthcare Service Unit Type, you can specify the default characteristics of healthcare service units you establish. You may easily construct several healthcare service units by selecting the type after configuring different types of the service unit in your facility with appropriate rates and other attributes. By visiting, you can configure a number of types.

Healthcare > Setup > Healthcare Service Unit Type > New Healthcare Service Unit Type

For the billing to work, ERPNext automatically creates an Item using the information you provide here.

By selecting the Allow Appointments check box, you may also build Healthcare Service Units to map consultation rooms and other locations where appointment scheduling is possible. Although billing will use the items chosen in the Healthcare Practitioner master or those set up in Healthcare Settings, such service units are not connected to the item master.

It should be noted that enabling Allow Overlap will permit overlapping appointments for the Healthcare Practitioner present at the service unit. This will come in handy when you design service units, like a yoga studio or a physiotherapy area, where numerous Patients can receive care concurrently.
