Job Card
Job Card
A Job Card keeps track of the actual production data for a given Operation carried out at a specific Workstation.
To begin production of an item in a specific quantity in each of the activities specified in the Work Order, a Job Card is prepared from the Work Order and distributed to each Workstation on the factory floor.
Each Operation's workstation can use the "Job Card" to issue "Material Requests" and "Stock Transfers to Manufacturing" for raw materials that are needed.
When a Job Card is completed, the production status in the Work Order will change, and we can monitor how well each of the Operations specified in the Work Order is progressing toward production completion.
To access the Job Card list, go to:
Home > Manufacturing > Production > Job Card
1. Prerequisites
It is suggested that you first produce the following before making and using a job card:
- Bill Of Materials
- Operation
- Workstation
- Work Order
2. How to Create a Job Card
When a Work Order is submitted, an automated Job Card for Operations is prepared.
An example of a job card is as follows:
Use a Job Card as directed to the following:
- When you're ready, click Finish Job instead of Start Job.
- As an alternative, you can fill up the Time Logs table's From Time and To Time fields.
- Choose the Employee who received the Employment Card.
- Type the Finished Quantity in the box. This is the quantity of Items on which the operation was carried out during the chosen time frame.
- Record time using the Start/Completed buttons in the Time Logs table by adding additional rows.
- Click on Submit.
The Operations and Workstations in a Work Order are taken from the BOM of an Item. You should make sure that the Routing is configured in the BOM for simplicity of use.
Workstation & Operations will be assigned to each Job Card that is created. Based on the quantity needed for production, the raw materials needed from each Source Warehouse will be determined.
Job Cards are automatically generated when a Work Order is submitted based on the values in the Operations table.
2.1 Select Work Order with Item to Manufacture
To transfer raw materials for production against Work Cards, choose "Transfer Material Against" on the Bill of Materials.
You can choose the following option in the Work Order:
2.3 Using a Job Card
Job cards will also define employee assignment and time details. A task's completion time can be tracked. By selecting the "Create Job" Card button, you can create new job cards if more than one person is working on the same Operation.
2.4 Material Request against Job Card
As a basis or order to prepare the raw materials needed for the manufacturing process, a Material Request will be raised from the Work Card. The original Job Card number will be referenced in the Material Request that is submitted.
Following the completion of each operation specified in the work order, you can monitor the manufacturing progress.
By examining the completion of each Operation connected to the Work Order, you can monitor the manufacturing progress inside the Work Order by looking at Job Card completion.
2.5 Scrap Items There is a possibility that some scrap materials will be created during the activities. It is necessary to add these scrap materials to the inventory. For that reason, the user must provide information about the scrap goods in the job card. The user can also place damaged or defective materials in the scrap items table.
3. Features
3.1 Tracking Quality Inspection
Introduced in Version 13
The quality of in-process (semi-finished) goods must also be monitored for production orders. It is described by the procedure (operation) carried out on it, which is described in turn in the job card. Incoming and leaving material tests are distinct from in-process tests. Making sure the final product is of the intended quality through quality control during production is helpful. For the Production Item in relation to the Job Card, you can generate a Quality Inspection.
